Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, per an official statement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down based on established safety measures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer stated in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This incident does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has suffered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to head back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical problem.
