Eulogies Flow for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Are Sealed.
More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the duo.
Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor uploaded archival material from the film, remarking that he could not remember "a single day without joy".
"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes expressed.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist
In a different piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed
Recently, a Los Angeles judge decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A court order put a security hold on the investigation to limit the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" connected to the probe.
The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a record listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".
Aftermath and Reactions
In the wake of the deaths, public personalities expressed different reactions.
Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative statements that were met with immediate backlash by numerous individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the critics last week. Speaking on his program, Rogan described the comments as "disturbing" and remarked they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.
Rogan concluded by proposing that an aide ought to have stepped in when the choice to speak on the tragedy was made.
