Kai Trump can count on multiple high-profile cheerleaders when she starts her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is related to Donald Trump, obtained a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns multiple international courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she stated.
The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."
"My grandpa basically told me to play and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's occupied with world affairs, so he's quite busy."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions recently and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the best player globally," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's a superior human being. He told me to go out there, relax, following the flow."
The golfer will compete against several most prominent players in women's golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA stated that her participation helps introduce golf to new audiences, particularly reaching youth audiences.
The young star has a massive following and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness label.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
